Ilvesa Foundation strengthens digital resilience by turning expertise into action.

We develop and deliver practical initiatives in cybersecurity, AI literacy and digital safety by bringing together expertise from academia, the public sector, civil society and business.

Our role is to turn expertise, partnerships and funding into programmes that create practical and measurable impact. We work locally while connecting Latvia to the wider European digital resilience ecosystem.

Our work

We create our own initiatives, help international programmes reach new audiences in Latvia, and bring together partners whose expertise, resources and experience can turn digital resilience ideas into practical action.

KiberACS – Cybersecurity Academy

  • STATUS: Active programme

KiberACS is a cybersecurity programme created by Riga Technical University and Ieva Ilvesa, combining professional training with the practical application of newly acquired skills. After completing their courses, participants work in companies and public institutions under mentor supervision, helping organisations improve their cybersecurity.

In its first training year, the programme trained 167 participants and supported cybersecurity improvements in 121 institutions and companies. KiberACS is part of an international Google.org cybersecurity education initiative.

Digital Resilience Talks for Business Leaders

  • STATUS: First event delivered

Together with the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia, Ilvesa Foundation has launched an expert discussion format for business leaders focused on emerging digital security challenges. The first event, organised with CrowdStrike, explored how artificial intelligence is changing cyber threats and how companies can prepare for them.

We aim to continue the format by bringing international and Latvian experts into conversations with business leaders on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and other emerging digital resilience issues.

Hack. Learn. Defend.

  • STATUS: In development

“Hack. Learn. Defend.” is an Ilvesa Foundation initiative designed to give 200–300 young people aged 15–18 across Latvia practical cybersecurity knowledge and skills and encourage them to take the next step towards further education in the field.

The six-month programme is built around learning by doing. Participants will solve challenges based on realistic cybersecurity scenarios in a safe learning environment, work with instructors, take part in CTF challenges and track their progress. The programme is designed to reach young people across Latvia, with additional focus on encouraging girls to engage with cybersecurity.

Ieva Ilvesa’s work in education

Ilvesa Foundation builds on Ieva Ilvesa’s long-standing work in digital literacy, cybersecurity education and societal resilience. Her experience spans national education initiatives, professional cybersecurity training, youth programmes and mentoring.

Ieva has contributed to Latvia’s A Computer for Every Child programme, developed cybersecurity education initiatives together with Riga Technical University and Google.org, and led Ukraine’s CISO Campus programme. She also regularly mentors and speaks in organisations and initiatives helping young people and professionals strengthen their digital and cybersecurity skills.

This experience provides a foundation for Ilvesa Foundation’s work today – developing practical programmes that help people not only understand technology, but use it safely and confidently.
